What the Trial Includes

The Trial Banner

During your trial, a banner appears at the top of the screen showing:

  • Days remaining
  • Your current paid seat count
  • What your monthly cost will be after the trial

The banner turns yellow when 3 days remain and red on the final day. This is not a pressure tactic -- it is a countdown so you are not caught off guard.

When the Trial Ends

On day 15, if no payment method is on file:

  1. A modal appears asking you to subscribe or export your data
  2. Your data stays safe -- nothing is deleted
  3. You have 30 days to add payment before data is scheduled for cleanup

Timeline

Day 1-14 Full trial access
Day 15 Subscription required to continue
Day 15-45 Grace period -- data preserved, access paused
Day 45+ Account scheduled for cleanup

Even during the grace period, Owners can still export all data. We will never hold your data hostage.

Adding Payment Early

Go to Settings, open the Billing section, and click Add Payment Method. You will not be charged until the trial actually ends. No downside to adding it early, and one less thing to remember later.

Trial Tips

  • Invite your team early so everyone gets hands-on time
  • Set up your knowledge base while content is fresh in your mind
  • Configure SLA rules for your team's response targets
  • Don't panic -- 14 days is plenty to know if cStar fits
